Some new MacBook Air owners invited to test WiFi update

Apple is responding to reported WiFi connectivity issues with the new MacBook Air models by inviting at least some owners to test a wifi software update.

As we reported last week, Apple has been offering replacement machines for those reporting issues and asking stores to ‘capture’ affected machines so that the company can investigate.

It’s not yet known how many owners are being offered the update, or whether it will also cure the issue of the machine’s new faster 801.11ac wifi speeds apparently being artificially limited.
