The Apple Watch App Store dedicated to iPhone apps that include WatchKit apps is going live ahead of the new device’s launch tomorrow, BuzzFeed says. Apple first added the Apple Watch App Store in iOS 8.2 as part of the Apple Watch companion app, but until now the section has displayed a coming soon page. The Watch’s App Store is available now.
Apple appears to have given BuzzFeed an early look at what the Apple Watch App Store will include on day one. In addition to Apple’s Keynote Remote update, the Watch’s App Store will highlight various categories of Apple Watch apps including games, health & fitness apps, social & news apps, and more.
In addition to pushing out the Apple Watch App Store today, Apple Watch OS 8.2, which is expected to be the version shipping with the device, has hit the servers likely to make restores possible once the Watch is available.
Earlier today Apple shared with the WSJ that over 3,000 Apple Watch apps have been made for the device before its release tomorrow. You can see the Apple Watch App Store and updated iPhone App Store below:
The primary App Store now shows Apple Watch app previews and mentions Apple Watch support for apps that support both devices.
iTunes on the Mac also presents Apple Watch app screenshots and badges on supported apps.

Nope, it’s open for everyone. In fact I just opened it again when I clicked on the App Store the icon moved over and a Search icon appeared at the end. So now I see “My Watch”, “Explore”, “Featured” and “Search”.
Very nice!! I also like how there’s a little circle icon and the words “Offers Apple Watch App” in the normal App Store but having the search feature in the Apple Watch app brings up only Watch apps. Great touch!!
Counting the days for my Space Gray Sport (the model almost everyone else got) to arrive some time in May. I can already see the battery dying quickly each day for the first few weeks/months as I download and test almost every one of the 2,000+ apps already available.
I would expect to be opened when you activate a watch. Whats the point in having and app store you can’t use?
For a potential apple watch buyer they can look at the watch app store and say “oh! thats a cool app!” now I want the apple watch to use that app!”
Yeap…why did you think the push the icon on everybody? right now I had this is in junk folder. I will wait for the refurbs and pickup one on cheap later on.
You have a point. But maybe it won´t be available in countries that dont yet have the option to buy. I´m in denmark and the store is not open for us, and we don´t have an option to buy the watch either
I ordered my 42 mm SS with a Whiteband @ 12:02 am PST on the 10th. I got the email notification that it is shipping… although my UPS App already notified me that I have a shipment coming tomorrow.

If you give such news – “Apple Watch App Store” – of this arrival, please do say where this is to be found. Does it just appear, or is it in the App. Store to be down loaded. At present in UK there is nowhere to be found anything showing the screens illustrated above..
