Ahead of appearance on ‘Late Show’ tomorrow, Tim Cook surprises customers at NYC Apple Store

It was announced last week that Apple CEO Tim Cook would appear on CBS’s The Late Show and now the Apple executive has arrived in New York City for the show. As seen in a variety of images shared on Twitter, Cook today made an appearance at the Fifth Avenue Apple Store. While at the store, Cook mingled and took selfies with customers, essentially causing chaos in the packed retail store. Apple executive Eddy Cue also was at the store today.

Cook’s appearance at the Fifth Avenue Apple Store appeared to be a total surprise to customers, but it’s not uncharacteristic of Cook to make appearances at retail locations in cities he visits. Of note, the Kardashian sisters also made an appearance at the SoHo Apple Store earlier this afternoon.

Cook’s PR docket is full over the coming months. The Apple executive is slated to appear on CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tomorrow and at at Box’s BoxWorks conference and WSJ’s WSJ.D Live conference next month. He was also a guest on Good Morning America last month. Cook’s appearance with Colbert, however, will likely prove to be the most entertaining. You can check it out tomorrow, Tuesday, September 15th at 11:35 PM ET on CBS.
