Pokémon Go now available in the UK for iPhone and iPad, find it in the App Store

Pokémon Go is now officially available in the UK! Download it for free in the UK App Store here. The official rollout in the United Kingdom follows Pokémon Go’s expansion to Germany yesterday and brings even more people into the scope of the smash hit title, which is now the most successful mobile game of all time.

Co-developed by the Pokémon Company and Niantic, the game involves players running around real world points of interest and landmarks in order to find and catch Pokémon. The game is freemium: all the game content is accessible without paying but In-App Purchases can speed up the process of catching them all. For example, players can buy Lure Modules that speeds up the rate at which Pokémon appear.

The sheer success of the game has blindsided everyone with the game topping Top Free and Top Grossing charts, with daily usage statistics just trailing the long-established social networks like SnapChat and Facebook. Nintendo stock has risen 50% since the game’s launch even if the direct financial benefits are unclear. In total, the game is estimated to be accruing about $1.5 million dollars in daily revenue.

The game received criticism for requesting a little too much access to your Google account upon signup on iOS but the company responded by saying this was unintentional and a quick bug fix update resolved the issue for new players.

Pokémon Go is available in the App Store for free, in the United States, New Zealand, Australia, Germany and now the United Kingdom.
