Soon Apps downloads will exceed music sales on iTunes

Here’s interesting: aas the above chart shows we’ll soon have downloaded more apps from iTunes than songs. Though to be fair, reading too much into the statistic is unwise, as so many of the apps available in-store are free, while music costs at least 59-cents.

“Assuming Asymco’s numbers are correct, it took roughly 2.2 years for the App Store to serve up 6.3 billion apps, while it took approximately five years for the iTunes Music Store to reach that same number,” notes TechCrunch.
