Videotron exec says iPhone for T-Mobile

Yet more claims that Apple intends launching the iPhone on T-Mobile and Wind carriers in Canada comes from Canada mobile firm, Videotron, which claims it too will offer a version of the device, specially manufactured with support for the 1700MHz AWS band.

Videotron launched its service in Canada yesterday with an exec making these claims. He added that he expects the iPhone to reach Videotron in the next few months, as Apple execs widen North American distribution in response to the continued (if increasingly fragmented) Android threat.

These aren’t the first T-Mobile rumors to emanate out of the US/Canada networks, but that two seemingly complimentary rumors have emerged from two different continents is extremely likely to set some chatter and speculation going. (Also see: Apple to abandon Infineon...)
