Apple will field tough questions at Q4 results conference, Oct 18

Apple will hold its Q4 financial results conference call on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 2pm, PT, the company has confirmed.

The event will likely see the company return new record numbers for iPad and iPhone sales, strong Mac sales buoyed by recent improvements in its portable range, and some hint as to how effective the new breed of iPod touch has been at continuing to shore up the companuy’s slowly declining iPod sales.

The company will likely field some questions as to just what impact the company felt from the furor which greeted the ‘antenna-gate’ crisis, and perhaps some further explanations as to the delay of white iPhones and the cancellation of the much-heralded free iPhone 4 case scheme. Apple management may also be asked to talk a little about their planned response to Android’s growing market share. Plans for iTunes and the Apple TV may also sit in the spotlight.

As per usual the financial results announcement will be Webcast in QuickTime format, and will subsequently be pored over by news outlets of varous stripes worldwide.

Apple stock price — currently approaching Exxon-like valuations — currently stands at $288.94, up 3.7 per cent on trades yesterday.
