Perla Haney-Jardine to play Steve Jobs’ daughter in upcoming biopic

Actress Perla Haney-Jardine has been picked to play the daughter of Steve Jobs in Universal’s upcoming biopic, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Per the report, Haney-Jardine will play Lisa Jobs in the film following prior roles in Spider-Man 3 from 2007, Untraceable in 2008, and Kill Bill: Volume 2 in 2004.

Natalie Portman was previously expected to have a part in the movie last November potentially with the role of Lisa Jobs, but leaked data from the disastrous Sony hack and a subsequent report revealed Portman passed on the opportunity to be involved with the film.

As for the lead roles, Michael Fassbender has been tapped for the role of Steve Jobs after actors Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio turned down the role. Seth Rogen, the actor starring in The Interview which allegedly prompted the Sony breach, is expected to play the role of Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. Actor Jeff Daniels is possibly playing former Apple CEO John Sculley.

Among a list of other changes, though, the film recently moved from Sony Pictures to Universal with Aaron Sorkin having written the film based on Walter Isaacson’s official Jobs biography.
