Beats Music’s Ian Rogers auctioning lunch in LA or Cupertino for charity

Update 2/5: Auction just wrapped up at $3,250 just over the estimated value.

Former Beats Music CEO and current Apple employee Ian Rogers is participating in a charity fundraiser through the online auction site Charitybuzz. With the estimated value pegged at $3,000, the fundraiser has a starting bid of $600, and runs for two weeks starting today. The highest bidder will have the opportunity to meet the former Beats Music CEO in either Los Angeles (where Beats is headquartered) or Cupertino (near Apple’s campus) for a private lunch meeting.

Rogers isn’t the first high-ranking Apple employee to participate in a Charitybuzz auction, although his fundraiser may end up being the most affordable. Apple’s Eddy Cue similarly offered up lunch and a MacBook Air last summer, and Apple CEO Tim Cook has been featured in two charity fundraisers with Charitybuzz so far. Cook’s first run raised over $600,000, while his second auction raised more than $300,000.

In each fundraising auction, the winning bid goes toward a charity picked by the participant. The former Beats Music CEO in this case is raising money to fund The Pablove Foundation, a pediatric cancer nonprofit organization. You can place your bid for the auction to have lunch with Ian Rogers here.

Rogers joined Apple through the company’s $3 billion acquisition of Beats Electronics and Beats Music last year, and a report from The Wall Street Journal last fall shared that Rogers is now running iTunes Radio in addition to the Beats Music subscription service.

I’m trying to come up with an incentive to talk to him. I come up blank. Anyone?

Maybe how to get Apple to pay $3B for your company lol. Besides that I wouldn’t have anything to say to him.
