Apple to open its second retail store in Hangzhou, China on April 24

Opening of the first Apple Store in Hangzhou

Apple opened its first retail store in Hangzhou, China back in January, and now the company has announced plans for a second. Apple says the store will be located at 701 Fuchun Road in the Jianggan District. The store will open at 9:00AM local time on April 24th, which also happens to be launch day for the Apple Watch.

Apple has promised to expand its retail presence in China to at least 40 locations. Tim Cook has said in the past that China is a “key” market for the company, while retail head Angela Ahrendts has said that China is one of her key factors relating to Apple being a successful retail company.

Apple opened 5 new retail stores in China during the first two months of 2015, with more planned. Today’s announcement of a second store in Hangzhou comes at a monumental time in Apple’s history with the impending launch of the Apple Watch. The store will be located in the MixC shopping mall and will open April 24th.
