When Apple and HBO announced the launch of the HBO Now streaming service, they said that their app would be exclusive to Apple devices for three months. Now, a quarter year later, that agreement has expired and other providers are looking to distribute access to the television network’s streaming app.
One of the biggest names looking to get into the HBO Now market is Verizon. The mobile carrier and FiOS provider announced today that it will be bringing the service to its 100 million customers…
Starting today, current Verizon FiOS subscribers will be able to jump on board with HBO Now for the standard $15/month fee with the same 30-day trial that’s been offered on other platforms.
HBO NOW is immediately available to all Verizon standalone broadband customers, including FiOS and high-speed internet customers, for a 30-day free trial. HBO content will also be coming soon to Verizon’s upcoming mobile video platform.
Wireless subscribers will be able to add the service to their plans with the launch of Verizon’s “upcoming mobile video platform,” according to the press release. There’s no date yet for when that will be available.

What is the point of them getting involved? Seriously. No discount? Why bother?
Because not everyone owns an Apple device and they might still want to get HBO Now.

I mean what is the point of going through Verizon? Why not go direct to HBOnow.com?
I dont understand why you need Verizon…you can download the Showtime or HBO app and go to them directly…duh.
Can’t you just get free trial for 1 month then 15/month from HBO website?
