The Apple Store goes down ahead of iPhone 6S/iPad Pro/Apple TV event later today

As expected, the Apple Store has gone down ahead of Apple’s Hey Siri event later today at 10 AM PST. Although we don’t expect the iPhone, iPad Pro or Apple TV to be available to buy today, the site will return with information about the new products after the presentation is over. There is a chance that Apple’s updates to Apple Watch — new band colors and a new gold Sport watch — may be available immediately.

With the recent redesign of Apple.com, integrating the shop directly into the store, some had expected the icon Apple Store is down trope to change. However, it seems like Apple has decided to preserve this tradition as is, with the same ‘We’ll be back’ message. You can see the announcement as soon as you navigate to one of Apple’s ‘shop’ pages. The homepage, and some other product info pages, remain as normal.

Catch all the announcements from the event live on 9to5Mac, starting at 10 AM PT.

I can only hope that during the big product announcement, Apple announces at what time the Apple store will open for pre-orders! Last year’s fiasco was inexcusable, IMO.

Just tell us when you will let us login to give you our money – Pleas, no stupid guessing games and then find that Apple.com can’t handle the in-rush of people looking to pre-order the latest phones.

    YMMV!

I’m kinda hoping they’re gonna keep selling the 5S because even though I have an iPhone 6. I would love to have an iPhone 5S silver because it is I feel the most beautiful product Apple has ever made. The silver iPhone 5S. OMG it’s so pretty. If Apple drops the price of the 5S to 400$, even if it’s just 8GB, I’m getting one.

    • I couldn’t agree more, I feel like the 5S in general was the most beautiful phone they ever made in all 3 colors, the 4 to me was the best phone ever, but the 6S/6S Plus, i think could take that over with the better casing materials and a slightly thicker frame, I feel like the 6/6 Plus just a tad too thin

The sole reason I still have (2) iPhone 5’s and (1) iPhone 5S — All in Black! I wish I’d have kept the 4s for the same reasons!

Seriously Apple you still have to take down your store the day of an event? Really?

They could make it function so it wouldn’t go down. It’s all for one word: anticipation.

True. Just like their iPhone and iPad packaging. It is designed in such a way that when you are pulling up the upper side of the box, it goes slowly. That is not some coincidence but it’s designed this way so your excitement/anticipation while opening the box lasts just a bit longer. And it is awesome I have to say. Apple thinks of every little detail.
