Email suggests Singapore will get its first Apple Store late next year on Orchard Road

Pure Fitness has sent an email to its customers reporting that its branch at 170 Orchard Road in Singapore will be closing at the end of the year to make way for a new Apple Store set to open in late 2016, reports TechInAsia.

Pure and other tenants will be handing back space to make way for the opening of a new Apple store in late 2016.

It made the same statement in a later press release. While this is an unconfirmed report, the location would make sense …

Orchard Road – commonly referred to in Singapore simply as Orchard – is the best-known retail area on the island, and home to many fashion brands, upmarket restaurants and hotels. The Grand Park hotel is located above the stores on the block.

While the online Apple Store is available in Singapore, retail sales are currently only available via third-party resellers.

Apple this week held the grand opening for one of its largest retail stores in the world, in Dalian, China. The title of world’s largest Apple Store looks set to be taken by the Dubai store, set to open this week.
