Get Canary’s all-in-one home security system + air quality/temperature sensor for $179 (Reg. $200)

canary-security-ios

This is one of the best deals yet on our favorite all-in-one, iPhone-controlled home security system and air quality detector.

Just in time for the holidays, get $20 off Canary. That brings the price down to $179 from the regular $199. Better yet, you can save a total of $50 off regular price when purchasing the Canary Two-Pack.

This Wi-Fi, smartphone-connected security system does a whole lot more than the webcam style security cameras gaining popularity recently, and it does it all with gorgeous, Apple-like industrial design and slick companion apps for iPhone and Apple Watch…

Canary has specs that rival all the latest range of smart, Wi-Fi connected security systems— 1080p video, motion detection, audio, a siren, night vision— and it adds it some unique features that make it a step ahead the competition including sensors that detect air quality, temperature and humidity, and the ability to intelligently learn your habits.

Here’s a look at the iPhone app in action:

And for Apple Watch users, the company brings the core experience to your wrist with a companion app for the device:

With most other smart security cameras on the market, you have to pay to get access to live streaming or video history. With Canary, you get live streaming, 12 hours of video history, and video saves on the entry-level free plan. That means, unlike the competitors, you can give Canary as a gift and not have to worry about the recipient having to pay monthly.

And if you need more storage or history, Canary’s upgrade plans start at $5/month.

Head over to Canary’s site now to take advantage of the deals.

But does it have HomeKit support?

    • Zac Hall - 8 years ago

I don’t believe any security cameras have shipped HomeKit yet.

I was thinking the same thing – just bought a house 3 weeks ago so I have not invested in any smart home tech yet. I see no reason to go with anything other than HomeKit supported tech since I’m so late to the game. What are the other choices for smart home security?

I’ve heard the security system companies are a bit hesitant with HomeKit and Apple only recently implemented very basic support.

I don’t think it’s worth waiting for HomeKit for essentially just Siri control. I’ve tested Canary and it pretty much runs itself once you set some rules and it learns your habits, plus the motion detection etc.

@Chris Giordano – Thanks for your reply I’ll check them out. I’ve heard of the Z-Wave stuff, if I’m not mistaken they make a bridge for Z-Wave devices to HomeKit? I should’ve mentioned the house already had an old traditional ADT system that actually was setup with a battery\cellular connection so I’m not in a huge rush to get something fast. I’d rather take my time and get something that works in my Apple ecosystem (as much as possible). Thank you!

Nope. However the standalone iPhone and Apple Watch apps are pretty solid.

Awesome. I have one at the office (paid $250) and now I can get one for the home.

    Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to Canary support. I would be happy to help.

We have had numerous questions about HomeKit integration. However, at this time there are no concrete plans to work with HomeKit. If we do decide to integrate, it will be announced to anyone who has signed up for an account or sign up to join the Canary mailing list.

Currently, the only home automation system we work with is Wink.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

    Best,

    Scott T.

It apparently doesn’t ship outside the US or UK. This should’ve been mentioned here. I was convinced to buy one. :s
