If you have an Apple TV, look out for the Littlstar app, which brings 360-degree videos to the platform for the first time. The company says that it has thousands of videos in its library, including ones from major brands like Discovery, Disney, Fusion, MLB, Mountain Dew, National Geographic, PBS and Red Bull.
You use the trackpad on the Siri remote to control your viewpoint. In a ballet video, for example, you can look around the theater as well as watch the performance, to get more of a sense of really being there …
Littlstar, which already has an iOS app, is backed by Disney Accelerator, which provides both financial backing and mentoring for tech companies launching products in the consumer entertainment and media fields.
In addition to partnerships with commercial brands, Littlstar also allows anyone to upload 360-degree content to the service.
You can also view 360-degree videos on the web, using your mouse or trackpad to look around.

What is the point of a 360 video on a flat display? On a VR headset I get it, but a flat display is just sounds like an awful 360 video experience.
It certainly suits better to VR, but just open the link to their website, you can try it out there. It’s the same as with Googles Streetview or Earth, you can use the Keyboard to rotate your viewpoint. And nobody asked why Google offered this years ago without a VR headset in mind.
Street View is static images, you arent missing content by scrolling one way or the other as the “scene” doesnt progress. Similar, but not quite the same.
The quality of some of these is much better than others, but I just browsed through a few and some are pretty cool. I watched all but one all the way through, (they are mostly fairly short, a couple minutes to less than ten), which might mean they offer something more than just a interesting demo. Some ideas show much more potential than others.
It’s kind of cool, but I really want to zoom in.
