With the New York International Auto Show taking place this week, car makers are showing off the latest vehicles featuring Apple’s CarPlay platform including new 2017 models from Hyundai, Honda, Volkswagen, Chevrolet, Subaru, Kia, and others.
The latest vehicles with support for Apple’s CarPlay platform, which brings iPhone features like phone calls, messaging, music, and apps to in-dash displays, include Hyundai’s 2017 Ioniq lineup, Kia’s 2017 Cadenza, Chevrolet’s 2017 Sonic, VW’s 2017 Golf Alltrack, Honda’s 2017 Civic Hatchback, and Subaru’s 2017 Impreza. As is the trend, all the vehicles are also integrating the competitive Android Auto platform.
And earlier this month, Ford announced that the 2017 Escape would be its first vehicle with CarPlay support when it arrives in May.
Toyota also took the wraps off its new Prius Prime at the New York Auto Show this week, but it only mentions support for Apple’s Siri Eyes Free mode for iPhone users and not CarPlay in its press release.
Apple has yet to add the new vehicles to its official list, but it keeps track of CarPlay partners by year and model on its website. CarPlay got an upgrade this week thanks to iOS 9.3 which we detailed earlier this year here.

No brainer, simple logic. When carplay/android-auto phone connectivity is NOW available than why in a world anyone wants to buy new car/SUV/truck/etc without it ? Typically, people keep car 10 or more years and no one wants to live without these features; when others(friends,colleages,extended family,etc) who waited little more have and enjoying convenience everyday..If you are uninformed buyer than at-least ask for huge discount on car if not equipped with carplay/androidauto feature.This kind of pressure will get these car manufacturers get off their laurels.
