Claimed design sketch of iPhone 7 shows identical height & width to iPhone 6s

A claimed design sketch of the iPhone 7 shows identical dimensions to the iPhone 6s. The drawing (shown in full below) shows only the height and width, not the depth, so doesn’t shed any more light on the ‘headphone jack or no headphone jack’ question.

The sketch was posted by French site NWE with an @onleaks watermark, so has decent credentials, though of course neither can be sure that it’s genuine. It’s a very basic sketch that would be very easy to create.

The sketch does show one other small detail …

The camera lens cutout is slightly larger than that of the iPhone 6/6s, which could potentially indicate a larger sensor. Both size and position are consistent with earlier purported chassis images from the same source, which also showed the camera cutout closer to the corner of the phone.

It has been suggested that the iPhone 7 Plus may get a dual-camera system, but – if true – this appears to be a feature unique to the larger model.

It’s hard to tell too much about the design from such a crude sketch, but the overall shape of the phone shows the same rounded edges as the 6/6s, which is consistent with KGI Security analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s recent research note suggesting that the iPhone 7 would have ‘no attractive updates’ over existing models.

There have been conflicting reports on whether or not Apple will ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack in favor of Lightning and Bluetooth, likewise on whether or not it will get the Smart Connector found in the iPad Pro.
