Retail head Angela Ahrendts attends opening of new Apple Store at the World Trade Center

Yesterday evening, we shared a handful of first-look images and videos of Apple’s new retail location in the World Trade Center, but the store officially opened to the public earlier today. Given the landmark size and location of the store, Apple’s retail head Angela Ahrendts was in the house for the opening.

Ahrendts shared an image on Twitter of herself with some of the store’s staff, noting that she’s “humbled” to have Apple represented in such an important and historical building. “Humbled to have Apple at the World Trade Center. We look forward to serving everyone in this remarkable community,” the Apple executive said.

Apple’s World Trade Center retail location was first reported on 2 years ago, while actual evidence of Apple’s existence at the location didn’t emerge until 6 months ago. The store is spread over two floors and is located in the shopping section of the Oculus Transportation Hub. Like a plethora of Apple Stores, the World Trade Center location was designed by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson.

You can view a variety of images and videos of the store in our coverage yesterday of the preview event. If you visit the new store, which is located at 185 Greenwich Street, feel free to send us any images and video you take!
