Ubiquiti releases new AmpliFi Instant Mesh Wi-Fi System, sets up in under 2 minutes

Expanding its lineup beyond the popular AmpliFi HD mesh router and AmpliFi Teleport, Ubiquiti Networks has announced its latest offering, AmpliFi Instant. With a super fast set up process and an affordable price point, this newest product looks to be a compelling router choice.

When Apple discontinued its AirPort lineup, we recommended AmpliFi HD as a solid alternative. It offers a unique experience with a display on the main unit that gives users details like current upload and download speeds and more, along with expandable MeshPoints.

The new AmpliFi Instant router also comes with a display and can be purchased with or without a secondary MeshPoint, and comes in at a lower price with a focus on a zippy set up.

It features 802.11ac with dual-band 2.4 GHz 5 GHz radios. Although we haven’t seen exact square foot coverage details yet, Ubiquiti says it is perfect for “any apartment, condo, or average-sized home.”

AmpliFi Instant Highlights:

  • 2-Minute Setup: The AmpliFi app guides users for quick, easy setup, while the MeshPoint comes pre-paired – simply plug it in where Wi-Fi is needed the most.
  • Features You’ll Use: AmpliFi Instant has the features users want, such as device status and guest access, and a simple interface that doesn’t require an advanced technical degree. A glowing LED light indicates the system status while the AmpliFi app puts users in control of their Wi-Fi.
  • Designed for the Home: AmpliFi Instant is designed to complement the home’s interior both functionally and aesthetically. The clean, fresh design allows users to put the Router where they use their devices, such as an office, family room, or bedroom.

The AmpliFi Instant Router features dual-band radios, a WAN port, and a Gigabit Ethernet port, while the MeshPoint features a Gigabit Ethernet port. Its simple and compact design can seamlessly blend into your home decor and be set on any flat surface for optimal Wi-Fi coverage. AmpliFi Instant also utilizes the intuitive AmpliFi app for instant setup, configuration, powerful reporting metrics, parental controls, remote access, and easy guest access.

There is a WAN and a Gigabit Ethernet port on the router, the MeshPoint features a Gigabit Ethernet port as well. Users can easily manage their network with the AmpliFi app for iOS.

AmpliFi Instant will go for $99 for just the router and $179 for the router and MeshPoint combo.

AmpliFi Instant will be available starting today direct from Ubiquiti Networks, from Amazon, Best Buy, and other retailers.
