How to set multiple timers on HomePod

One of the headlining features of the iOS 12 update is setting multiple timers on HomePod. Before, HomePod was only able to set one timer at a time, per HomePod.

With the latest software release, you’re now able to set more than one timer. Follow along to learn how..

How to set multiple timers on HomePod

  1. Invoke Siri on HomePod by either saying “Hey Siri“, or tapping and holding the top surface.
  2. Before asking for a timer, name the timer. For example, “set the coffee timer for five minutes.”
  3. To set a second (or third, fourth, etc.), rinse and repeat the steps above, making sure all of the timers are named properly.

Setting multiple timers was one of the bigger complaints HomePod got when it first launched. That, and making phone calls and multiple profiles. Unfortunately, that last one is still a pain point. Fortunately, it sounds like Apple is listening and updates are being made accordingly.

To check on a timer, simply say “Hey Siri, how much time left on the <name of timer> timer.” If you know you’ll only set a single timer, you can forego the naming portion of the timer and use it as you would previously. Setting multiple timers is great for certain environments such as cooking.
