Last summer, Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia began testing Apple’s Business Chat platform as way to handle beer and other drink orders during games. That test is now expanding to Cleveland, where Cavalier fans can now use Business Chat to order drinks.
As announced in a press release, Aramark, the food and beverage vendor of Quicken Loans Arena, has partnered with the Cavaliers to allow attendees to order drinks directly from their phone. The process is pretty simple.
First, you open the camera app on your iPhone and scan the QR code on the back of your seat. From there, you’ll be taken to a Business Chat thread in Messages where you can start your order. You’ll be presented with a full beverage menu where you pick your drinks and pay via Apple Pay, all from the Business Chat interface.
Kevin Kearney, district manager for Aramark, touted this integration with Business Chat as a way to streamline the process of ordering drinks without missing any of the game:
“The integration of Apple Business Chat with the ordering process is not only fan-friendly and easily accessible, it’s reflective of fans’ changing expectations and behaviors and we’re looking forward to Cavs and Monsters fans giving it a try,” Kearney said in the press release.
Of course, there’s less than a month left in the season for the Cavaliers, but the pilot program will continue through the Cleveland Monsters AHL season.
