Apple Configuration Profiles is critical to the macOS and iOS management experience. They are XML files to deploy settings and authorization information to corporate and school-managed iPads, iPhones, Macs, Apple TVs, and even Apple Watch. These profiles are essential for controlling and standardizing settings across numerous devices. A new app I came across called LowProfile is an excellent (and free) app for inspecting and understanding these payloads before you deploy them.

Starting on the journey of switching Mobile Device Management (MDM) vendors can often feel like navigating to Mordor to destroy the one ring. The very thought will likely create images of endless spreadsheets, painstaking manual work, and the ever-looming fear of the chance of breaking something and hurting productivity. Changing MDM providers is hardly anyone’s idea of a fun project. However, sometimes it needs to be. If you’re starting on that process, you might want to consider MacOnboardingMate.

Apple @ Work: T-Mobile’s Meraki deployment highlights a continued missed opportunity for Apple

The company announced a “Connected Workplace” to deliver a seamless business solution that includes fast performance, Cisco Meraki devices, a cloud-managed networking platform, 24/7 support, and more. When I read this news, all I could think was about how this is a huge missed opportunity for Apple on the hardware and services side.
