Serif, makers of the popular Affinity creative suite has shared that it has “something big” coming on November 9. What it’s calling “the next level creative experience” is set to see the Affinity apps redesigned and refined with hundreds of enhancements and “incredible new features” including something Affinity customers have been asking for.

Affinity Photo, Designer, and Publisher updated with major boost in performance

Affinity announced today that its three popular content creation apps are being updated to version 1.10. Photo, Designer, and Publisher are receiving a boost in performance in their respective Mac apps.

According to the blog post, this update is making some tasks up to 10 times quicker. For example, with Affinity Publisher, a complete rewrite of memory management now enables huge documents to offer instant loading times, smooth live editing, and super-fast scroll.

Affinity Publisher is an upcoming desktop publishing app that many are hoping will serve as legitimate Adobe InDesign alternative, much like sister apps Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer have served as viable alternatives to Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Lost amid the shuffle of today’s release of Designer for iPad, developer Serif says that the Publisher beta will arrive before the end of August.
