Apple on Monday opened applications for its next Entrepreneur Camp. This online event connects developers with founders as well as other developers of app-driven organizations who are part of underrepresented groups, such as female, Black, and people of Latin descent.

Apple launched this week its inaugural Entrepreneur Camp for Hispanic and Latin founders. The company invited leaders and developers from nine app companies from the US, Brazil, Guatemala, and Portugal to “build the next generation of cutting-edge apps.”

Apple’s senior director of worldwide developer marketing, Esther Hare, talks about the Apple Entrepreneur Camp program in a new interview and the need for more women and Black developers in the community. In an interview with the Brazilian newspaper O GLOBO, Hare defends that “coding must be accessible to all people.” Apple Entrepreneur Camp program exists for a few years now and supports educational opportunities for Black students, people of color, and women.

Alongside the return of its Hour of Code classes, Apple is launching an all-new Entrepreneur Camp that is focused on creating new opportunities based on app-driven businesses owned or led by women.
