Philips website shows off unannounced Hue Adore lighted mirror with HomeKit

Philips is further expanding its Hue smart lighting lineup. Today, the listing for the company’s Adore bathroom lighted mirror has shown up on the company’s website.

Earlier this week, we learned about Philips’ upcoming outdoor Hue LightStrip. That joins the company’s other new Hue products made for outdoor use released this year. In expanding its smart lighting lineup even further across all areas of the home, the Hue Adore bathroom lighted mirror has now shown up on the company’s UK website.

The Hue Adore mirror includes a dimmer switch, uses LEDs like the rest of Hue lineup and is also water-resistant. Notably though, it only offers white light, not the 16 million color options that many of the other Hue products tout. Just like the rest of the family, you’ll need a Hue bridge for HomeKit control of the new mirror.

Here’s how Philips describes the new product:

This Philips bathroom light is especially designed for humid environments. It was tested rigorously to ensure its water resistance. The IP level is described by two figures: the first one refers to the protection level against dust, the second against water. This bathroom light is designed with IP44: it is protected against splashing water. This product is most commonly used and ideal for the bathroom.

As noted by The Verge, the new mirror will take more effort to install than items like Hue bulbs, since it needs to directly wired. While the listing is live for now, Philips isn’t taking orders quite yet. However, the company is expected to start selling the Hue Adore next month.
