Snapchat, Messenger from Meta, AWS, and more having issues [U]

Earlier this week we saw an AWS outage bring down Disney+, Amazon’s Alexa, League of Legends, and more. Now we’re seeing trouble for Snapchat, Messenger from Meta, Instagram, AWS, and more.

Update 8:40 am PT: Issues are lingering for Snapchat, Instagram, Messenger, Ring, and more as AWS still appears to be having trouble.

Update 10:20 am PT: The issues seem to be mostly resolved. We’ve also learned that Instagram and Messenger’s issues weren’t due to AWS. And AWS is reporting all systems as green.

Update 12:15 pm PT: Snapchat says its issue is now resolved.

Reports have been coming in on Down Detector this morning about the outage at Snapchat with other seeing issues with Messenger from Meta and Instagram.

Notably, it appears that Amazon Web Services (AWS) are having trouble this morning which could end up being related to some of the issues.

Snapchat confirmed on Twitter that users are having trouble logging into the app. Meanwhile, the majority of issues being reported with Messenger from Meta are for messages not going through.

AWS is also currently kicking out error messages saying that it is currently “working on the problem and expect to resolve it shortly.”
