Disability advocate shares journey with iOS 17 Personal Voice, see it in action [Video]

Three features I’d love to see in iOS 18

iOS 17 was only just released in September with some major updates that we love, including customizable contact posters, additional Tapback replies, and voice note improvements. Not only that, but with the recent announcement that RCS messaging is coming to Apple later in 2024, it’s safe to say that iPhone users are going to be seeing some massive updates in iOS 18. That said, there are of course additional features I’d love Apple to implement in iOS 18 that would be huge wins for iPhone users. Head below the fold to read more.

iOS 17.2 developer beta 2 is now available. The first beta release introduced Apple’s Journal app, new features to Messages, Translate as an Action button feature, and more. We expect future betas to include refinements to the Journal app. We’ll update with any changes we discover.

iOS 17.2 expands ‘Sensitive Content Warning’ for detecting unwanted nudes

iOS 17.2 is currently available to developer and public beta testers with a number of new features. This includes the Journal app, updates to Apple Music, and Tapback changes.

Another change in iOS 17.2 is for Sensitive Content Warning. This feature was first introduced in iOS 17 to warn people about photos and videos that might contain nudity, and iOS 17.2 expands it to more areas of iOS.

iOS 17 can tell you what’s wrong with your car using Visual Lookup

iOS 17 includes some big improvements to Visual Look Up, Apple’s feature that identifies things in pictures you take and shows you more information about them. As part of iOS 17, this feature has been expanded to recognize some of the most common symbols on your car’s dashboard.

This includes icons ranging from warning lights to those perplexing symbols for things like vents, defrosting, and more.
