Amazon is no longer playing in the same league as the iPad having dropped their Kindle price today from $259 to just $189. (were they before? no)
Not only is the Kindle likely seeing defections to the iPad and today’s iOS 4 iPod’s iBooks (which start at street price of $173), but Barnes and Noble slashed prices on its color screen Nook to $149 (WIFI only)/$199 today as well.
At $189, these things are priced more like an accessory that you only use on sunny beach days. You know, when you don’t want to get sand and sunscreen on your iPad.
We’re thinking Time is trying to improve its PageRank… Besides the Droid, Time also rated the Barnes and Nobel Nook and the Dyson fan above the iPhone 3GS.
