Apple sees the light, gets ambient…(patent)

A third Apple patent makes things interesting, describing as it does technologies which should help the company in its continued development of a 3D iteration of Mac OS X.

December 2009 saw Apple reveal a 3D version of OS X using head-tracking technology patent. This latest patent posits use of advanced ambient light sensors on Macs that could interact with surrounding light, changing the way the onscreen objects are displayed to cast shadows as if in reaction to the extrinsic light source.
