Apple offers Boxing Day iTunes sale w/ deals on select albums in Canada

As it has done in recent years, today Apple launched a special Boxing Day sale in at least the Canadian iTunes store offering deals on select albums and songs. The sale is accessible through the iTunes store on both iOS devices and on the desktop. While Boxing Day is recognized as a holiday on Dec. 26 in Canada, retailers usually hold Boxing Week sales that last from Dec. 24 through Jan. 2.

The holiday is officially recognized in Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Hong Kong and a handful of other countries and sees retailers discount products similar to Black Friday in the United States.

This year Apple is offering a huge selection of albums across various genres starting as low as $5.99.

Update: The UK iTunes store is advertising sections of “Hit Albums” and “Greatest Hits” starting at £3.99, although without the “Boxing Day” branding that appears on the Canadian store.
