Last week we noticed that Apple had started seeding Apple Watch review units to the media, and this evening the device is getting more promotion. On popular TV show “The Voice,” coach Pharrell Williams can clearly be seen wearing the Apple Watch. Likewise, Apple CEO Tim Cook is attending the NCCA national championship game with the Apple Watch clearly strapped on his wrist.
Tim Cook appears to be wearing the stainless steel Apple Watch with a white sport band, while Pharrell appears to have on a Gold Edition model with a white sport band. Cook received his masters degree from Duke, which explains why the Apple CEO is in Indianapolis for the NCAA national championship game.
The Apple Watch will go up for pre-order this Friday, April 10th, with in-store previews beginning the same day. The device will go on-sale April 24th, although we’ve noted that retail stock will be incredibly limited for many models on launch day. Earlier this evening, Tim Cook sent a memo to all Apple employees regarding the Apple Watch launch. In the memo, Cook congratulated his staff on the hard work it has put towards the Apple Watch. He also noted that Apple employees will all get 50% discounts on the aluminum sport and stainless steel models of the Watch and $550 off of the gold Edition variations.

Wait a second, is Tim Cook getting his photo taken with an Android phone?! For shame!
in which picture is said android phone?
Well can you look at exif data or is it removed?
lol it was an iphone…. just in a really big and bulky case lol
Oops, you’re right. What an ugly, bulky case. One of the reasons I don’t use one.
The bulk case is needed for some users to avoid the shattered screen price for 129.99… You can purchase the apple case which don’t take away from the thinnest.
Huawei’s android wear watch looks much much better. So much better than the square apple watch. Then again mostly all the round watches look better than the apple watch… I don’t know why apple went with square, looks like a first generation apple product (a shrunken 1st generation iphone).
It’s perfectly rational to tell us that you prefer a round watch to a square one, but when you say that you “don’t know why” Apple went with a square, you’re either just talking smack or you don’t have a clue what you are talking about.
They said they went rectangular because it made the most sense for the content ud be seeing on it. Other watches may look better, but u can’t beat apples number of apps and developers, and how they integrate so well with their other products, not to mention the build quality and crazy amount of r&d that goes into all their stuff.
Apple is behind this round and google has had a head start on them. What google needs to do is add android wear support to the iphone
Looking at the UI/UX of the Apple Watch the curved square was the right choice.
Apple is also all about bucking the trend of traditional silhouettes so to believe that ALL wrist/smart watches have to be circular is extremely obtuse.
If that’s the 42 then it isn’t as large as I thought it would be.
I thought it looks like a 38
Both models are smaller than you’re imaginjng.
Jakexb is correct. You’re going to be surprised how small the watches are.
Pharrell looks like he’s wearing an 18 karat gold Watch Edition in the Instagram video, it seems to match his other jewelry towards his hand.
It’s also nice to see that you can easily read it outside in daylight, at least the video makes it look nice & bright.
say, “what”?
