The Series 4 Watch was released on September 21st, 2018. New hardware included the S4 Chip, Electrical heart sensor w/ ECG app, and larger display (40mm and 44mm sizes).

The Apple Watch runs watchOS, and the current version is watchOS 5.

Apple Store POS and pickup system seeing downtime nationwide

[Update: The system appears to be back up and running after about an hour and a half of downtime. Keep in mind lines might be longer than normal this afternoon and evening.]

Tons of Apple users are excited to pick up their new iPhone XS, XS Max and Apple Watch Series 4 today. Unfortunately, we’re hearing that Apple Stores are currently seeing downtime with the pickup and point-of-sale system, preventing customers from getting their devices.

Cook asked to justify iPhone prices, and why Apple was excluded from Chinese import tariffs

We heard yesterday that Apple CEO Tim Cook would be appearing on Good Morning America, and guessed that the trade war with China would be one of the topics. The show did indeed kick off with Cook being asked why Apple products had been excluded from the tariffs.

The iPhone is assembled in China, but the parts come from everywhere, including the United States. The glass comes from Kentucky, there are chips that come from the US, and of course the research and development is all done in the United States.

I don’t want to speak for [the Trump administration], but I think they’ve looked at this and said that it’s not really great for the United States to put a tariff on those type of products …

Kuo: Apple to ship >75 million new iPhones this year, mostly XR and XS Max, new Watch proving popular

Apple announced its flagship iPhone lineup of iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR to a generally mixed reception. Ming-Chi Kuo says that the XS preorders are ‘lackluster’, but believes in the strength of XS Max demand and the iPhone XR launch in October.
