Today at Apple

Today at Apple is a creative initiative offered online and in Apple’s retail stores around the world with the goal of educating and inspiring customers to go further with their passions and the products they love. After rolling out to every store in 2017, Today at Apple grew to offer 250,000 sessions per quarter attended by millions of people. In 2020, Today at Apple moved online with virtual Webex events.

From augmented reality to photography and music, Today at Apple sessions are shaped by Apple’s latest technologies and customer interests. Apple Stores, in turn, are shaped by Today at Apple. Every recent new store or remodeled space is designed around a session-first experience with a video wall and gathering area known as the Forum. Top locations regularly host exclusive events with local rising artists and established voices in the creative community.

To sign up for sessions near you, visit the calendar on Apple’s website or use the Apple Store app. If you experience a great Today at Apple session, share your photos with us on Twitter or by email.

How will Today at Apple adapt to an era of social distancing?

Imagine this: you’re sitting among a few dozen friends and strangers to learn illustration techniques from your favorite artists. Everyone is sharing ideas and passing around iPads to start their own drawings. Crazy, right? In the span of just a few weeks, such a simple function of community has gone from commonplace to sounding absolutely utopian, like a story from a grandparent about the “good old days” that you just know is too good to be true.

What I’ve just described to you is Today at Apple, Apple’s series of creative sessions that were held every day at every Apple Store. So what’s a program designed to bring everyone together to do in an era where everyone is intentionally staying apart?

When the cube returned this past September after years of renovations, the new store earned another distinction: the world’s only 24-hour Forum for Today at Apple creative sessions. Apple says the store is “Always Open to Open Minds.” With a bright new space and a renewed focus on connecting people, it’s time for Apple to tap the energy of the city that never sleeps and keep creativity flowing all day and all night.
